IRVINE, Calif., Feb. 4, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — Today, Mona Lisa Faris, founder and publisher of DiversityComm, Inc., now in its 24th year of business, announced the launch of Diversity in STEAM Magazine, a science, technology, engineering, arts/design and mathematics magazine. The preview will be launched digitally on March 16, 2015, and features Bill Nye, “The Science Guy,” as the cover story. On June 15, 2015, the premiere issue will be available on newsstands across the country and through DiversityComm’s APP: DiversityComm.
Diversity in STEAM Magazine targets K-12 girls and boys, college graduates, professionals and entrepreneurs seeking educational, business and employment opportunities for women, veterans, people with disabilities, LGBT persons and all minorities. Each issue is full of exciting and fascinating articles encompassing the latest technology findings, stats, inventions, trends and success stories.
“Each of our four current diversity-focused magazines features a STEM section, but, with the growth and demand for diversity and outreach in STEM, it was obvious that a platform was necessary–thus, our newest addition to the DiversityComm family: Diversity in STEAM Magazine,” explained publisher Faris.
“We added the ‘A’ to the ‘STEM’ acronym in Diversity in STEAM Magazine’s title because we believe the future must include the arts and design in the equation of overall technology,” Faris added.
Currently, more than 1.4 million STEAM-related jobs are being created, and, at this time, we do not have enough women and minority candidates to fill those jobs. “Now is the time to prepare, promote and provide opportunities in this field—we’re moving full STEAM ahead!” said Faris.
Published semi-annually in June and December, Diversity in STEAM Magazine features pertinent editorial content designed to enhance the personal and professional lives of STEAM leaders and thinkers. Departments include: Steaming Hot Jobs, New Inventions, Start-ups, What’s Trending, Next Generation, Government, Calendar and Conference Wrap-ups, as well as an annual Best of the Best series highlighting Top STEAM-Friendly Employers, Top STEAM-Friendly Schools, Top Supplier Diversity Programs and more.
