Terrence Howard is in the news again. As reported on Newsweek and other media outlets, Former Fear Factor host, Joe Rogan, recently addressed Howard’s comments as the broadcaster spoke with rapper Action Bronson on an installment of his show. “So, is he correct? I don’t know,” Rogan continued. “So that’s what has to happen is, Terrence Howard has to sit down with someone who’s an academic, someone who’s got a Ph.D. in whatever discipline they’re talking about. And they can have a discussion and you can see what he really knows and just what he can say to me, right?
Among Howard’s claims are that he holds 97 patents, criticized the basis of principles like event horizon and gravity, saying that basing beliefs on straight lines instead of waves and curves has distorted any true understanding.
The Hustle & Flow star also stated that the universe is finite rather than infinite and that planets in the solar system are slowly moving away from our sun, with Venus on course to eventually take Earth’s place. And then there’s also his belief that 1×1=2, disputing the theory that any number multiplied by 1 is itself.
“I kind of understand it,” Rogan said of Howard’s theories. “I mean, it made sense. He’s making sense. He’s way too smart to just be making everything up. Like, there’s no way he’s a lunatic. I’ve heard people say he’s a lunatic, he’s making things up. I don’t think that’s correct. He knows too much.”
There was some support for Howard on Instagram posts, but others not so kind. Former White Stripes rocker Jack White was among those who spoke out in opposition. “Hey everyone, just a reminder you should definitely be getting your facts about science and medicine from Howard and Joe,” White wrote on Instagram last month. “I wouldn’t waste any time trusting scientists or [doctors] who went to universities etc. for 12 years getting a PHD or anything.”
In July of 2022 DiversityComm posted that the actor and self-proclaimed scientist is currently visiting Uganda as part of a government initiative to attract investors from the African diaspora. Howard claims he possesses the innovation needed to revolutionize the world.
As reported by Vice, Howard gave an ambitious presentation on Wednesday, July 13, where he told officials about his “new hydrogen technology.”
Known for his controversial assertion in Rolling Stone that one times one equals two, Howard now promotes a system he calls The Lynchpin, which he claims can clean the ocean and protect Uganda from exploitation using advanced drone technology. This technology, which he introduced in a 2021 press release, is said to hold 86 patents.
“I was able to identify the grand unified field equation they’ve been looking for and put it into geometry,” Howard told an audience of Ugandan dignitaries. “We’re talking about unlimited bonding, unlimited predictable structures, supersymmetry.”

He elaborated, “The Lynchpins are now able to behave as a swarm, as a colony, that can defend a nation, harvest food, remove plastics from the ocean, and provide opportunities for the children and people of Uganda to spread and sell these products worldwide.”
After a brief retirement from acting in 2019, Howard returned in 2020 and appears to have embraced a personal mission to rewrite scientific history. According to Vice, his statements, which quickly gained traction on social media, included, “I’ve made some discoveries in my own personal life with the science that Pythagoras was searching for. I was able to open up the flower of life properly and find the real wave conjugations we’ve been looking for 10,000 years.”
Although Howard’s latest claims remain unclear, he was invited to speak by Frank Tumwebaze, Uganda’s Minister of Agriculture, Animal Industries, and Fisheries.
