The winners of the 2024 NAACP Image Awards have been revealed!
In a glamorous event featuring a mesmerizing performance by Andra Day and emceed by Queen Latifah, Usher was bestowed with the prestigious 2024 President’s Award, acknowledging individuals for their remarkable achievements and outstanding public service.
The film and television segment of the awards saw Abbott Elementary emerge victorious, securing numerous accolades including outstanding comedy series and a notable win for William Stanford Davis as outstanding supporting actor in a comedy series.
Among the standout winners were Ayo Edebiri for her portrayal in The Bear, Chloe Bailey for her role in Praise This, Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story for outstanding drama series, Swarm for outstanding limited series, A Black Lady Sketch Show for outstanding variety show, and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse for outstanding motion picture.
Several Oscar winners continued their winning streak, with Cord Jefferson of American Fiction clinching the prize for outstanding writing in a motion picture shortly after receiving the best adapted screenplay Oscar.
In the realm of music, Victoria Monét claimed the title of outstanding new artist, while Megan Thee Stallion secured the win for outstanding hip hop/rap song. Monét added another feather to her cap with a win for her album “Jaguar II”, while Usher was honored as outstanding male artist for his track “Good Good” featuring 21 Savage and Summer Walker.
