The popular dating platform, Tinder, has announced their new CEO and a company first. Faye Iosotaluno, the company’s former chief operations officer, has been promoted as Tinder’s first Asian American CEO.
“Faye’s understanding of the dating category is unparalleled and coupled together with her remarkable leadership capabilities,” Bernard Kim, CEO of Match Group stated in a press release. “I look forward to partnering with her to usher in an exciting chapter of growth and innovation that will lead the category and bring Tinder to the next generation of singles.”
Iosotaluno holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the Wharton School; a bachelor’s in English from the School of Arts & Sciences of the University of Pennsylvania; and an MBA from Harvard Business school.
While working as an investment banker at Credit Suisse and Merrill Lynch, Iosotaluno discovered she had a passion for consumer technology and client relations. She took that passion into the field, spending the next 15 years in leadership roles where she fostered premier digital consumer services for SoundCloud, Viacom Media Networks, Warner Bros. and Time Warner.
Prior to Tinder, she worked for Match Group as chief strategy officer, where she oversaw consumer research and corporate development, after being promoted from senior vice president of new business initiatives at Match Group.
She held various strategy, operational and leadership roles until she was appointed chief operations officer in 2022. There, Iosotaluno led several major initiatives related to member experience, people, business development, strategy, finance, analytics, marketing and international operations.
Iosotaluno’ s passion for client satisfaction through consumer technology has carried through every role she’s had at the company, making her new position as CEO even more exciting. Iosotaluno expressed her enthusiasm for the role to Kim, saying:
“It’s hard to overstate the impact Tinder has had on relationships and dating as we know them today. I’m passionate about connecting people with new technologies that help enable more meaningful lives, experiences and relationships, and believe in the power of this team to take Tinder to its next phase of growth.
“I’m excited to continue working closely with Bernard and the rest of the team as we find more ways to drive consumer engagement and help users make lasting connections.”
