Calling for Workshop Proposals for Convention 2025!
March 5, 2025 - March 9, 2025
Planning for the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE’s) Annual Convention in Chicago, IL, March 5–9, 2025, is underway! Our theme for Convention 2025 is “Inspire! Excel! Impact!” In preparation for Convention, the call for workshop proposals (Call for Workshops) has officially started! In alignment with the Convention theme, all workshops should fall within one of the track categories below:
Inspire: Many of us are familiar with the difficult experience of being “the only one” in our academic and professional careers. For nearly 50 years, NSBE has inspired individuals to be engineers and more. Our events have been places of inspiration, where students and professionals gather and network with their peers. Workshops need to continue to inspire our members to live all aspects of NSBE’s mission.
Excel: Workshops should provide valuable takeaways for our members, whether they come from academia, corporate America, entrepreneurship or careers outside of engineering, to help them continue excelling.
Impact: An integral part of NSBE’s mission involves making a positive impact on the community. Two illustrations of this commitment are the creation and development of our Technical OutReach and Community Help (TORCH) program and our Summer Engineering Experience for Kids (SEEK). Workshops should give our members the drive to use the information learned to empower the community.
Below are the workshop themes we are looking to actualize:
• Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning
• Mental Health
• Civic Engagement
• Entrepreneurship
• Hands-on/Interactive Sessions
• Science Simplified: Clear, Engaging, Accessible Conversations
Submit your workshop ideas here.
The submission deadline is Sept. 9, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. EDT. Submissions received after this date will not be considered. Please email [email protected] with any questions or concerns.
