Shannon Sharpe is set to be honored for his digital contributions as he receives the Webby Advocate of the Year Award at the 28th annual Webby Awards. The former professional athlete, aged 55, is being commended for his impactful presence in sports commentary, advocacy for racial equality, education, and health, as well as for his highly successful podcast, Club Shay Shay. The award selection is overseen by a committee led by the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS).
Furthermore, a standout moment for Sharpe’s podcast was highlighted as the Katt Williams episode won the Webby Award for Featured Guest, Individual Episodes (Podcasts).

Among the esteemed list of honorees is Keke Palmer, who will be recognized with a Webby Special Achievement Award for her multifaceted contributions as an actress, activist, and entrepreneur, alongside her distinctive digital initiatives such as Baby, This Is Keke Palmer and KeyTV.
Noteworthy personalities like Michelle Obama, JAY-Z, Megan Thee Stallion, Travis Kelce, Spotify, Snoop Dogg, Jon Batiste, and Taylor Swift, among others, have also secured awards at this year’s ceremony.
The diverse array of winners includes projects such as Barbie Celebrates Barbie The Movie, Be My AI, The Book of HOV, Corporate Erin, Daft Punk – Infinity Repeating Music Video, Fenty Beauty Shade Matching Filters, GLAAD, Google Fonts, The Kelly Clarkson Playlist, Las Culturistas with Matt Rogers and Bowen Yang, The Laverne Cox Show, Letterboxd, Michelle Obama: The Light Podcast, NASA’s Immersive Earth, Netflix – I Like To Watch, New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce, and NPR Music Tiny Desk Concerts.
